Last updated: August 28, 2026
Overview
The Teacher Brain ("the App," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to The Teacher Brain mobile app and the website at www.theteacherbrain.com.
If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at support@theteacherbrain.com or through our contact page.
Information we collect
Information you provide directly. When you create an account or use the App, we may collect your name, email address, and any content you submit — including lesson-planning inputs, journal entries, mood check-ins, habit and streak data, and posts, comments, or messages you share in the Teacher Lounge community.
Information collected automatically. When you use the App or website, we may automatically collect technical and usage information such as your IP address, device type, app version, and how you interact with features. This helps us keep the service secure and improve how it works.
How we use your information
- Provide, maintain, and operate the App's features, including planning tools, wellbeing tools, and the community;
- Communicate with you about your account, updates, and support requests;
- Understand how the App and website are used so we can improve them;
- Protect the security and integrity of our platform and users.
AI features
The App includes AI-powered features — brAIn (lesson-plan and activity generation) and AI Month in Review (a summary of your activity). These features use OpenAI's gpt-4o-mini model to process your requests.
We send only the minimal data needed to generate a result: for brAIn, the request you type or dictate; for AI Month in Review, anonymous aggregate counts rather than your individual entries. OpenAI does not use data submitted through its API to train its models. AI output is a starting point only and should be reviewed for accuracy, appropriateness, and alignment with your school's policies.
Google Calendar integration (optional)
If you choose to connect Google Calendar, the App requests permission to access only the calendar events you own, and uses that access for a single purpose: to keep your calendar events and your tasks in the App in sync. Your Google Calendar data is never sent to any third-party AI provider, and we do not read, store, or share calendar data beyond what is needed for this syncing function. You can disconnect this integration at any time in your account settings or in your Google account permissions.
The App's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers. With trusted vendors who help us operate the App (for example, hosting, analytics, and the AI provider described above), who are permitted to use the data only to provide services to us.
- Legal reasons. When required to comply with applicable law, legal process, or a lawful government request, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and platform.
Data retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain information to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
Your rights and choices
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict the use of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@theteacherbrain.com.

Cookies and similar technologies
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences, keep you signed in, and understand site usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect some features.
